2021 BUZZ Awards

The BUZZ Awards competition seeks to recognize and showcase the marketing and design achievements of our members. With more than 20 categories to choose from, we encourage all NARI San Antonio members, regardless of tenure, to enter their projects for judging.

Submissions will be accepted between July 19th and September 3rd, 2021.

Start by downloading the 2021 Buzz Awards packet. It contains all of the information and forms you need.

Submission Process

1. Visit remodelsanantonio.org to complete the BUZZ Award request form with your payment by 4pm on September 3, 2021.

2. Members in good standing are eligible to enter their marketing and design projects completed between January 1, 2020, and June 1, 2021. Each entry carries a $100 entry fee, payable using the PayPal interface located below. All fees are nonrefundable, nontransferable, and cannot be carried over to subsequent years.

3. Entries can be submitted via a Google Drive link, Dropbox link, or a flash drive. Physical copies of most entries are not required.

4. Email or hand-deliver your entries to Angela Parks at angelas@southwestexteriors.com or 2430 Freedom Dr, San Antonio, TX 78217, by 4pm on September 3, 2021.

2021 Skeet Shoot

Join us at the National Shooting Complex (5931 Roft Rd, San Antonio, Tx 78253) on Friday, April 16th for our annual Skeet Shoot event. We will be auctioning a custom deer blind built by the students at our local Construction Careers Academy at the event.

  • $40 for a non-shooter attendee

Note that ammo is not included in the price. You are welcome to bring your own or to purchase it at the National Shooting Complex.

March 2021 General Membership Meeting

October General Membership Meeting

Join us on Wednesday October 21st from 12:00-1:30p at Chris Madrid’s (1900 Blanco Rd SATX 78212) for a general membership meeting. Our featured speaker will be Andrea Kassem, who will be discussing her experience in personal Health & Wellness in the midst of our current pandemic.

Lunch will be Chris Madrid’s burger bar.

We will be practicing social spacing and all local CDC guidelines will be followed. We will have a give-a-away along with NARI logo masks for all attendees.

About The Speaker

ANDREA KASSEM, RN, OCN, CBCN, NBC-HWC


Andrea Kassem is an experienced nurse who came to San Antonio 25 years ago from a small town in Ontario, Canada. Andrea holds three specialty nursing certifications in oncology and patient navigation. In addition, she is a Board-Certified Health and Wellness Coach and received her training at Duke University. Most recently, Andrea worked at Baptist Health System where she played an integral role in the inception on the navigation program and went on to lead her team as manager of the Baptist Cancer Navigation Program. During her tenure in this role, she was instrumental in accreditations, quality, community outreach, national speaking and process improvements. Most important to Andrea was being part of her patient’s care team- offering support and education throughout their journey with cancer. Merging her roles as a nurse and a health coach has given her opportunity to empower individuals with the tools and resources to take charge for their overall health and wellness, creating a life that is authentic, healthy and joyful.

In Andrea’s spare time, she loves to bake and share her goodies. She also loves yoga, reading, and running and is determined to improve her golf game. She is a nature lover and LOVES downhill skiing. In addition, she is blessed to be the mom to two wonderful children, her daughter is attending University of San Francisco and her son is in 6th grade. Andrea is currently attending the Nutrition Therapy Institute and is on a journey to complete her certification as a Board-Certified Holistic Nutritionist.

BUZZ awards are for any NARI Member who does any design and/or marketing, from one-person shops to the largest remodeling firms. Companies report that winning an award is a major factor in enhancing their image within the industry and with prospective customers, and is a major morale booster for their employees.
